Tie-Dye Fun

Who doesn't bright, colourful, tie-dye clothes? They are super fun to make and so simple. Here are three different tie-dye styles.

The Goodies you need to work your magic:
    • White cotton clothing
    • Rubber bands
    • Rubber gloves
    • Large plastic sealed bags
    • Fabric dye
    • Squirt bottles

Striped Tie-Dye
The striped style tie-dye is really easy and great to show off separate colours

1. Firstly lay your clothing flat, then start folding your piece of clothing into pleats (like making a paper fan) at the way from the top to bottom.

2. Use the rubber bands into separate parts, a couple of centimetres apart will do, but it's totally up to you.

3. Squirt the dye into each section, you can use as many colours as you like. You can go crazy with colours here. Make sure all the white bits are covered.

4. Then let the colour sit in a sealed plastic bag overnight over night (do this with all the tie-dye clothes).

Spiral Effect
This pattern is pretty cool and you can see the pattern instantly.
1. Lay your piece of clothing flat, then pinch your piece of clothing somewhere in the middle and start twisting it

2. You should end up with a twisted shape

3. Carefully place  a few rubber bands around your spiral, make sure they all intersect in the middle, start squirting colours the the sections.

Crumbled

1. Again lay your piece of clothing flat, then start gathering your clothes into random wrinkles towards the middle.

2. Make sure you have lots of wrinkle, random, folds to give the crumble effect. Then use a few rubber bands to hold it together, while you squirt the dye on.

* Rinse and Wash all your tie-dye clothes separately from your normal clothes, then hang to dry.
Have fun with tie-dying. Check out our tie-dye clothes below
